Columbia Land Trust is dedicated to conserving and stewarding the natural landscapes that define the Pacific Northwest. Pitchfork Communications has supported the land trust since 2018, providing strategic communications planning and media outreach for specific projects.
We partnered with Scheinberg Consulting to complete a communications assessment for the East Cascade Oak Partnership, revealing important insights into the communication preferences of many of the group’s stakeholders. By interviewing stakeholders, conducting research and advising the partnership around a community survey, we learned about specific language to avoid, messages that resonate or alienate, what sources of information stakeholder groups trust, and how to effectively deliver information, or more accurately, how to learn toward a common goal.
In 2021, we partnered with Weinstein PR to guide the land trust in announcing a landmark deal that protected more than 25,000 acres of working forest from being developed. We continue to support Columbia Land Trust with media relations.
